Sarah Tracy realized her passion for parenting when she began taking classes from Candyce Bollinger in 2006. After several years of attending classes with her, Sarah began her ongoing mentorship with Candyce in 2011. She has been providing group education and private consultations for parents since 2013 after she completed a graduate certificate in parent coaching from the Parent Coaching Institute at Seattle Pacific University. Sarah is the mama of two active middle schoolers. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family – traveling, watching movies, and enjoying the outdoors. Katy Johansson has been taking parent education classes continually from Candyce Bollinger since her oldest son was 6 weeks old. She feels fortunate to have the opportunity to be mentored by Candyce so that she can help give South Sound parents the tools they need to be intentional in parenting. Katy has two elementary school-age children in the Olympia School District, where she works as a paraeducator. She is a proud alumna of the University of Washington and earned a Parenting Skill certificate from South Puget Sound Community College. She currently serves on the boards of: Hands on Children’s Museum; Olympia School District Education Foundation; Capital City Marathon Association; and Capital High School Foundation. In her spare time she enjoys training for marathons and triathlons, and traveling with her family.
Janelle Garcia-Martinez brings an international and intercultural perpective to the arena of parent education. Married to a Mexican native and mother to 4 fabulous daughters, Janelle speaks Spanish at home and is immersed in the bicultural and bilingual family life. She holds an M.A. in International Education and is currently studying under the mentorship of Candyce Bollinger in addition to pursuing certification as a Professional Family Mediator. She has taught international students, immigrants and refugees at South Puget Sound Community College for over a decade and is very passionate about helping people to improve their family dynamics and lead more fulfilling lives.
Wyatt Guzoto is a full time working father of a vibrant 5 year old boy. He began attending classes with Candyce when his son was an infant. Because of his own commitment to growth and learning as a father, he was the recipient of Candyce’s Parenting Education Program Certificate of Achievement. Also volunteering at programs such as the Crisis Clinic hot line and becoming a leader of the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Family Connections program.
Wyatt brings a unique perspective to Candyce philosophy, as second generation student, his parents attended classes with Candyce when they were raising him. Growing up with these ideas in the house showed Wyatt the power of making the choice to move up the ladder toward health.
He is an avid reader and researcher exploring modern day ideas on child development and how these ideas relate to personal responsibility and fatherhood. His mission is to empower fathers to engage more directly with the parenting process and who wish to raise healthy children.
